The internal latching mechanism for my door broke after a hard slam. The know would turn but the latch wouldn't retract. Even taking off the knob and pulling the spring mechanism manually wouldn't retract it. I was worried I'd have to take off the door entirely. Bought this instead, after a minute of finagling I got the door open and was able to replace the latch.

It works like a charm. I tried sheets of other materials to jimmy doorknob locks and they work but require lots of wrangling and take a minute or more. This little strip slips in and the door opens like butter in 2 seconds.

I work 16 hour days to restore power in storm/hurricane-torn areas of the US. Almost 50% of the time, every other day, the hotel key 🔑 card malfunctions and I have to take all gear and pack it all the way back to the lobby to get it reset….. Not anymore 😂.
